Jan Schakowsky receives a 100% rating from the Women's Chamber as a champion of women's economic priorities.

“I am proud to announce the endorsement of the U.S. Women’s Chamber of Commerce (http://www.uswcc.org) for Jan Schakowsky in the race for Illinois’s 9th U.S. Congressional District,” stated Margot Dorfman, CEO. “USWCC previously endorsed candidate Jan Schakowsky continues to be a stalwart supporter of women, access to quality health care, consumer rights and seniors.”

“Jan Schakowsky is a champion of women’s economic priorities, receiving a one-hundred percent rating from the U.S. Women’s Chamber of Commerce,” adds Dorfman. “Schakowsky supports a positive economic environment for women workers and business owners, American job creation, fair pay, a fair minimum-wage, family-friendly workplaces, access to affordable/quality healthcare and birth control, policies that support a vibrant middle class and access to capital and federal contracts for women-owned firms,” continues Dorfman.

"We know that Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky will always be on our side fighting for women, families, consumers and seniors," concludes Dorfman.

“Rep. Schakowsky understands working and middle class people are fighting for jobs and improving their paychecks; she is working on their behalf every day,” adds Dorfman. “Her powerful role as House Chief Deputy Whip and Vice Chair of the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee gives her an influential role as a driver of women’s economic priorities at senior leadership levels.”

“Growing the number of strong women leaders in Congress is critical to assuring that women’s economic priorities are advanced,” adds Dorfman. “American prosperity is directly linked to the economic success of women. Seventy percent of women work and seventy-two percent of mothers work. A record forty percent of all households with children under eighteen include mothers who are either the sole or primary source of income for their family. Women own more than 417,000 Illinois firms employing more than 340,000 workers,” continues Dorfman.

“We know that Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky will always be on our side fighting for women, families, consumers and seniors,” concludes Dorfman.
